MIAMI SWIM WEEK 2017: 7 Designers to Watch Out For

Miami Swim Week 2017 kicked off yesterday in grand style. Starting off with a few official parties hosted by Sports Illustrated, Bollare X The Cobrasnake and Basement attended by Miami’s “IT” fashion crowd, super hot bikini models, bloggers , swimwear enthusiasts and press from all over the world. These parties also featured star studded guest appearances from the likes of Wale, Christina Milian, Nick Canon and guest Djs like Diplo and more.

Just in case you were wondering what exactly Miami Swim Week is, i’ll tell you. Miami Swim Week is the biggest Swimwear event in the world that takes places in Miami Florida annually over the course of 3-4 days in the month of July. It consists of two major fashions shows -Funkshion Swim Fashion Week and SWIMMIAMI respectively, a pioneer African Show called Ankara Swim dedicated to showcasing African Swimwear Designers in the diaspora and also a bunch of other trade shows like Cabana, Hammock and Swimshow. With Swimshow being the biggest of them all.

Miami Swim Week features the hottest swimwear collections the industry has to offer with expertly curated fashion shows, pop-up shops, industry talks and event showcases for buyers, media outlets and bloggers from all over the world. With both Funkshion and SWIMMIAMI shows kicking off later today, we’ve made a list some of our fav designers/brands whose shows we’re certain are going to give us serious FOMO. Here are the designers to watch at this year’s swim week.

Lolli Swim

Lolli Swim is a fun brand whose playful take on swimwear catches your eye and appeals to endless summer heart. We’re expecting to see a lot of fun, flirty pastel bikinis and one-pieces. Maybe even frills and scallops, who knows?

For Love and Lemons

For Love and Lemons  is one of my favorite lingerie brands and i’m so glad they’ve got a swimwear line too. One thing is sure however,  if their swimwear is anything like their lingerie,  it would definitely be a killer! Sexy styles you can’t say no to.

Beach Bunny

If you’re looking for affordable chic,  Beach Bunny is you go to brand. I love that it targets the young demographic starting from age 16  with their racy but cute swim styles that includes trendy pieces like cheeky bottoms, halter necks and off shoulders tops.

Gottex

Probably the longest to be in business of all the aforementioned brands, Gottex aesthetics delivers glamorous, fashionable and high quality swimwear and beachwear pieces. We can’t wait to see what other classic styles and cuts the brand has up their sleeves this year.

Hot as Hell

Just as the name implies, Hot as Hell is flames and is designed to cause a stir in more ways than one. Last year the brand got everyone talking in their timeless yet adorably cute mommy & me pieces that are sure to never go out of style. We can’t help but wonder what’s next, Daddy & me perhaps? Just kidding!

Kaohs

If simplicity and seamless fitting is your thing,  Kaohs is just what you’re looking for. Inspired by three seemingly unrelated styles — boho, surf, and skate — Kaohs comes together to offer both edgy design and foolproof wear, so you can do anything and look good while doing it, too.
